Founded in 1882, by Father Michael J McGivney at St. Mary's Church in New Haven, CT, the Knights of Columbus has been a Catholic service organization that has its roots firmly planted in charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism. From Fr. McGivney's earliest vision of founding a mutual benefit society to provide for widows and orphans of the working class, we continue to that end today by maintaining over $21 billion in assets and ranking consistently on the Fortune 1000 list for our insurance programs.

The Knights of Columbus are currently over 2 million members strong and maintain over 16,000 councils across the globe. Pope Saint John Paul II called the Knights of Columbus, "the strong right arm of the Catholic church" and we work hard to live up to the title. We partner with Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity, American Wheelchair Mission, Canadian Foundation Wheelchair, and Gary Sinise Foundation, just to name a few of the ways in which we give back to our communities. Each council has special organizations they support within their local communities, as well, and charitable works are the cornerstone of our mission.

Another important mission is our faith lives and we have an especially designed program, called Faith In Action, that allows us to express our faith with like-minded Catholic gentlemen. As partners with our clergy, Knights of Columbus are always ready to assist within and around our parishes to support our faith leaders, as well as our families and communities. With Rosary in hand, a Knight is never without the tools he needs to take any issue directly to God on behalf of another.

If this sounds like an organization that would benefit you and your family please consider joining the Knights of Columbus in TN today. With online submission available any time, it has never been easier to become a Knight. We will be glad to assist you in finding new ways to "lean in" to your parish and grow in your faith life with fellow Catholic gentlemen.
